Early this morning, a heinous hate-crime was committed against an LGBTQ woman in my hometown of Lincoln, Nebraska. She was tortured by three unknown men who barged into her home, tied her up, and carved “dyke,” “fag,” and “cunt” on her body before attempting to set her home on fire.
Tonight, there was a candle light vigil for her and all victims of hate crimes. It warms my heart to see my community come together in the wake of such a tragedy.
